Yes 2 Earth Now is the umbrella name for the whole ecoactivism project represented by the DIY Art & Comedy campaign, done within a framework of conceptual art. The social sculpture aspects are equally indebted to Joseph Beuys and Nobel laureate Wangari Matthai, whose forest planting efforts have revolutionized ideas about how ordinary people can participate in global transformation.
In honor of thinkers like Matthai, I established two Facebook groups- the first, Yes To Positive Social Change Now, gave rise to the second one which is Yes to Earth Now. Both of these groups rely strongly on vetted newspaper stories. News-centric archives, especially for the longer running Yes To Positive Social Change Now, contain thousands of hard news articles about regular people doing extraordinary things for their communities. These archived stories act as inspiration for those who wonder how they can make a difference.
As part of the Total Badassery Badge portion of the project, the Yes 2 Earth Now campaign also offers a sticker which points to the website where the Wild Economy idea is explained in very straight forward terms. See the Wild Economy section for more on that idea, but Yes 2 Earth Now is where it all began.
